If you’re anything like us, a holiday is as much about consuming the food and wine as it is for everything else. Learning about how different countries and cultures pair their wine and food, and understanding why they go so well together, is a huge part of the allure of travel. Unfortunately, many of us can’t spend our lives on jaunts around the world, eating and drinking the whole time. Although that sounds incredible, right!?
So, in an attempt to satiate your hunger for cultural wine and food pairings, we’ve come up with a concept goes some way toward enjoying the world’s culinary delights and culture, without leaving Dubai. Vine Around @ Souk is a unique food & wine culinary tour of the Souq Madinat Jumeirah, unlike anything in the UAE. A tour of five different restaurants where you learn about and consume, the great food and wine pairings from five different countries. Think Italy, France, South Africa, Greece, and Britain (yes, the Brits do have some wonderful food and wine pairings!), at Trattoria, Publique, The Meat Co, Taverna, and Folly by Nick & Scott, respectively.
Not only will you get a guided tasting of perfect wine and food pairings, but you’ll also get tips on how to pair food and wine at home, what flavours go best with one another as well as the rich history and stories behind the wine. All while taking in the beautiful views around the Souq Madinat Jumeirah.
During the two-and-a-half-hour tour, you’ll spend 25-30 minutes at each of the five venues, sampling the pairings while learning from The Tasting Class about why they work so well together, as well as the rich stories and history behind them.
The first tour begins on November 24 and will run every Tuesday from 7PM. Tickets can be purchased below.
